Looking for a sign frame supplier. Help please?
Posted by Ewan Chrystal on 3 December 2014 at 14:12Can anyone recommend a supplier of sign frames – 10800mm x 430mm. Ideally made up as opposed to me buying lengths. Cheers

I used to make my own but have now used Cherwells for the past few years, great service.
-
Thanks Martin, i did call them but they want £50 delivery
-
It’s an awkward size to deliver – 10.8M – would have to be in two halves since the extrusions are generally 6M lengths max. Hence the £50 delivery charge I guess
-
Was on to Solar earlier, they were £17.50 delivery but not used them before
-
Is it your location maybe as I’ve ordered long stuff from cherwells many times and pay the standard £18.50 or what ever it is.
Cherwells are very good.
-
Probably. I’m in Argyll which as far as couriers are concerned is a couple of miles south of the arctic
-
Yer it’s where you are Ewan, not really Cherwells fault because the couriers hit them with stupid charges once they decide the area you live in is far enough north to class as Scottish Highlands & Islands.
The other thing is that some couriers don’t operate North of the Border so the goods have to be dropped off by one company & collected by another, don’t know how true that is but have been told the same thing by a couple of companies I tried to order from. Course it might just be a way to bump up the charges :lol1: :lol1: -
No, not having a pop at cherwells. Believe me I know all about the ridiculous pricing and third party couriers. I have one supplier in Dundee who can send stuff to London cheaper than to me. And don’t get me started on guaranteed next day delivery.

I haven’t bought trim from Solar but I have bought other thing and never had an issue or cause for complaint.
Cheers

Kestrel Signs in Birmingham have always been reliable for me for a number of years and have always packed the product very well, however, unfortunately as Phil has pointed out a 10 metre sign in 2 packages is going to attract a higher than usual rate for delivery
-
Why don’t you try making this yourself – it’s really not difficult as Rob explains here:-
http://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=17591Panatrim or Eurotrim can be bought in 5M sections from a number of suppliers local to you e.g. Robert Horne or Amari

Ive made smaller ones myself Phil but this is 10.8m long so i’d rather let someone else get it right rather than me get it wrong lol
