  • Looking for estate agent sectional post supplier

Anyone ever heard of these? Got a customer that says they got some but cant remember where. Basically, its a sectional post that they can put up, take down and throw in the back of the car. It would need to have the channel out of the top for flag type estate agent signs. Can’t find anything similar on tinterweb

    quote Ewan Chrystal:

probably means he does know but wants to try getting cheaper than the ridiculously cheap price already quoted! 😀
joking aside, i have had allot of this time of thing and with the promise of huge volume. its a complete waste of time unless you want to do it fro nothing. bottom line is, you and i are not geared up to compete with the ones banging these out for pennies.
but they expect you to compete!

i know i know, this is the post system you are speaking off, but my guess its to accompany the signage or the promise of the signage should you source him better posts.

im not 100% on the post your after though Ewan, sorry for not being much help mate. possibly the one thats the spike base cone you hammer into the ground and slide the post into the cone to hole it?

To be fair there is no promise of large volumes. They are a small EA just looking for a few posts BUT they want them in sections for easier transportation. I think unless there is a specific supplier out there I’ll be saying thanks but no thanks.

I have done in the past. There are just 2" X 2" Timber post. You can buy from Wickes or B&Q. Then white paint them. Then bottom of the post you need to cut in triangular shape or insert cone shaped metal clip ready available in wickes or B&Q. So they can just hammer the post easily into the soft ground without digging any hole.

But they want to be able to split the poles in 2 halves. ie-8ft pole split into 2 4ft sections for easy transportation

But when you buy from B & Q, they provide timber cutting service free of charge

The 2 sections then have to be joined together to make a solid single post

Never ever seen estate agents signs with collapsable posts. They are normally on back of a pickup in a rack, one piece. Could do hinged with a locking pin but they would be tampered with. Some sort of double ended screw like an Ikea table leg fixing?
