  • CE 5000-60 off scale problem – help needed please?

I cut a job, then set cutter for next job and it ALWAYS comes up as OFF SCALE. Switch off cutter, back on and its fine. Pinch rollers etc are all in the right place. It has only started doing this the past month or so. All the cuts are fine, just this message is becoming a pita.
Any ideas? am i missing something obvious?

    Here’s one idea …

If the file is too wide (landscape shape) and should be in portrait that might be the problem?

Depending on the software you use for the file, is it set in Landscape or portrait style ?

Have you by any chance changed a setting somewhere along the line without wanting to ?
It is strange though why this would disapear once turned off then back on …!!

I use flexisign and the jobs fit ok. yeah its strange. switch on and cut a job fine, then re set the cutter for next job and its off scale until i switch off and back on again. Nothing changed that i can think of.
Will maybe phone Harry at Edward mathias on Monday, he’s good at sorting things over the phone

Here’s some information that I picked up off internet …. don’t know if this will help but just incase it gives you an idea …

OFFSCALE is displayed when data is received.
    Some areas cannot be cut.
The data received lies outside the cutting/plotting area set.
    Set the cutting/plotting area
    Check the page-length setting
The data received is larger than the
    cutting/plotting area set.
    Replace with a larger-size medium.
    Reduce the data size.

I also read another post where somebody had updated their software and that’s when he started to get the same message !
Good luck and post if you find the solution … !!
