recommendation for Buying a new cutter replacement
All I am buying a new cutter to replace an old jaguar iV i want to have one that is twice as wide as the 24 inch one that we have now.
This will be used mainly for cutting vinyl within the aviation industry, spray mask, some signs and various other vinyl signs
I have a Roland printer for printing
Do i stick with the same family of cutters or what is recommended this will be used daily and does have quite a reasonable output pretty much everyday.

Hi,
If you’re happy with the how your Roland works I would strongly recommend sticking with that series and going for a GX500, this would give you twice the width you’re currently operating. If you’re used to using the Roland software and the way they operate you’re likely to find it very easy to get to grips with. It also comes with the same level of support etc that you’ll expect from Roland.

I might have worded my thread a bit wrongly
I have a Roland for printing small BN20.
I am replacing our cutter which is a GCC Jag IV
This was here before my time i want it replaced with a good robust but with 4 foot capability.
I like the GCC but this is now old and i guess a cheap model at the time of purchase.
I am new to this model it works find but i am starting to cut bigger graphics now as the demand is getting bigger since i have arrive to get this graphics department of the ground.

Ah I see, well the GX would do the same function as the GCC, personally I have no experience of those cutters but our technical engineer suggests that the Roland would be a step-up from that product.
If you’re looking for something bigger, that’s reliable for more output perhaps the GX would work for you?

If you have been happy with the machine you were using & happy to stay with the same brand then speak to Nigel at Grafityp, they sell that brand of plotter.
Nigel is on the forum quite regularly so will probably see this thread anyway. -
Would have replied earlier but I took a weeks holiday last week, if you want a Jaguar IV 132S then we have a couple coming into stock in two weeks time.
Not sure why the Jaguar doesn’t seem robust enough, there are original Jaguars out there still running well past 10 yrs of use.
