Thinking of buying a used L25500, how reliable are these compared to the likes of a Roland SP540V? I’m stuck between these two machines.

    Cheers

I know some the earlier L25500 had issues with heaters etc.

That’s not to say it still not a blinding bit of kit, I have a friend who has been running his for the last 4 years without any issues.

Make sure you got some kind of cover from who ever your buying it from.

Thanks James. The warranties are pretty expensive for them. I could get buy with a Roland without a warranty as between myself and a colleague we have learnt a lot when it comes to maintaining a Sp 300.

I’ve had mine for 4 years, and are considering changing it right now, having said that it runs perfectly so might just hang on to it for another year or so.
Would be nice to have the new faster one but not an absolute necessity as this one does everything it needs to do.

Be sure to take out an extended warranty, I’ve had mine with the official HP providers (not sure I can say the company name), and have been very very happy with their response times & knowledge.
Might be expensive, but same applies to all the other printers….expensive if you never need to call upon their services, but if you do… well worth every penny!

    Rgds
