  • Mounting to boards help – unlaminated vinyl to correx

Posted by Danny Miller on 20 July 2014 at 16:34

Hi guys been asked to make 500 badget correx boards, never really done a job of that scale with boards, what would be the way to mount unlaminated vinyl to correx ? Should I use app tape on top and mount using a laminator with a 8 x 4 board, any help would be great as I’m new to mounting to boards.

    Thanks Danny

Do you have a rolls roller table?

You will find it easier if the prints are laminated.

500 boards? sub-contract it to one of the larger screen printing or direct print to panel printers, get a trade price and add a % for simply handing the goods over, you’ll be far more competitive and won’t spend days doing what the big boys could do in half a day!

what size are each print? if they are all 8’x4′ prints and x 500 then i agree with hugh and sub it out.

Unlaminated prints are very thin and stretchy especially when not long printed.

If they are just say 500 A4 prints then do them in multiples and cut them down.

Also becareful not to use a high pressure on the correx as you could warp it.

Yeh, sub it out to a direct to board printer and charge a handling fee.

You WILL make significantly more profit doing it yourself but you will probably want to die and curse the day you ever agreed to do it without having a rolls roller & laminating them.

Thanks guys for your reply’s was thinking about subing the work out, anyway it was 500 a3 boards but just wanted a general idea of the best way to mount these kinds of jobs without a rolls roller , as i’m new to mounting prints and do get asked often to do these kind of jobs.

    Thanks Danny
