  • how do I print off pantone chart??

Posted by Nick Minnery on 16 April 2014 at 14:34

    Hi guys

Could somebody tell me how to print off a Pantone colour chart please?

As you know, Pantone colour never look as they should when digi printed, so I’d like to print them all off, so I can then choose these closest one to my Pantone book/swatch.

    Thanks 😉

Might be a chart included with your RIP software

Cheers Jon, where would it be in the Roland RIP software? I looked under ‘media’, there’s nothing there.

Thanks for the download Glenn. So, if I imported that chart straight into my Roland RIP software, and printed it- those pantone colours would look exactly the same as the Pantone colours I select and export in CorelDraw? Sorry if sounding a bit thick.

    Nick,

Import that PDF into corel and and send it through to yor RIP from there

with our setup exporting into the rip as a PDF will give different results to exporting it as an EPS

once you have your printed chart/charts use them as a reference to match to an actual Pantone reference. You migh tfind that actual Pantone 300 is 301 on your new chart…or it might be that the CMYK chip (left hand side) is closer than the pantone (right side)

Once you import that chart into corel and click on the individual chips you’ll see what I mean

you might want to print one for each of the main medias/profiles you use too

Ive been using a colour chart I made up with ALL the pantone colours in the Corel Library for the past few years. There is 1144 colours on that ‘un……

Printed on Vinyl, PVC, Reflective and Photo Paper. Use that to find the colour, open the Corel file of the colour chart, copy the relevant colours, paste into the Corel file Im working with, and copy properties from my swatch coulour.

Sounds long winded, but actually only take a few seconds!

hanks Gert! When you say ‘open the corel file’, how do you copy the properties?

    Cheers

    Nick,

Select the item you want to copy the fill to, then click on "Edit" – from the drop down menu select "Copy properties from…." – that will open a new menu with check-boxes for Outline Pen, Outline Colour, Fill, and Text. Just check the box "Colour" and then click on the object you want to copy the colour from.
