Hi Looking some help with my VS540 with printing spot colours ( Solid red/ black/ orange/ green etc
When printing Banners / Posters/ Vinyl – standard work – prints perfect using manufacture profiles.

When printing spot colours its poor compared to my old VP540,
At present I’m using the roland Colour system library. No mater what profile i use the colours come out the exact same. The colours are just to dark and have a matt look . Just wanted to know if anyone uses a profile for printing solid colours , Everything we print is usually vector format . Should i be outputting to versaworks in RGB or CMYK? , we want to get a profile that prints bright / gloss look colours . Tried a few but cant get the colour s the way i would like. Roland have said that the colour system library is the way to go but I’m unsure, Has anyone came across a good profile to test or can help or point me in the correct direction. Is there other Rips that would produce different outputs ? Thanks TIm

What make of material are you using as it’s best to get the profile for your media we have a Roland XR640 and mostly print on 3M IJ40 using the 3M IJ40 profile that is available from the rolanddg.com website all our colour are spot on

    Hope this helps

i think thats really down to the material.
we use the roland colour system for the tricky stuff but thats really for removing any guess work.
tried too many other profiles and keep comming back to the generic 2 or3 never 1

set up queue a as you think you want it and select part of the colour library you are interested in the spot colours should show in the file format window.
and remember if the finished job is laminated then laminate the test bit.
