You could send them into Advantage as AI files and then save them in Advantage in the usual way as files you create in Advantage. (File/Import -choose .ai and then File /Cut.
Hope that helps (I’ve still got Advantage on a back-up system, but tend to cut from Corel these days)

no joy advantage starts to import then stops and shows error , if i could cut from corel that would be easier but i don’t have a driver for fastrack and it doesn’t seem see it , do i need driver or a plug in or more software , i have two pcs , the advantage is on win98 and corel is on xp , thanks

Is it a big file? Would importing a bit at a time help or does it have bitmaps in the file which would make a mess of the import? (My old Advantage still uses windows 95)
I’m out fitting this morning, but I’ll check out the steps exactly later for you
    Cheers

Okay sorry for the delay – the afternoon got big on me 😮

Anyway open Advantage/Composer then choose File/Import. You’ll then need to go to the Import comand at the top of the box that opens and change the import setting to import .AI to .PLT. (This should show then in the box as Import .AI to .PLT) That should mean you can cut from it in Composer
    Hope that gets you going
    Cheers

You say it’s a big file but it shouldn’t be that big if it is just vectors.
If you have bitmaps included in the file then try just exporting the vector part of the job. If I understand you correctly you only want to be able to cut from advantage so you don’t need the bitmap parts of a job.
Also you might have better luck exporting as an EPS rather than ai file.

its just a vector , but i’ve worked out what was wrong or not helping , which was to down save 😀 😀 to illustrator 8 when exporting and now works yey , thanks for help , i was going to give up or buy some thing new i can’t afford ,
now that i can use corel is there any way to cut directly or is that going to just be a pain to work out and would it save much time , thanks
