Hi Guys i’m having problems cutting my printed media, mostly the corners of my graphics and all my laminated stuff, it was cutting fine until a bit of vinyl got caught on the blade while cutting and still then it been playing up, i have tried two different blades, the cheap ebay ones and the roland blade which came with the machine, could it be my settings ? i"m currently using 125 force if that helps

    Thanks Danny

always use the test cut facility to get the correct pressure

Ring Harry at Edward Mathias. They sell smart knives which I (and many others on here) have found to be the best. He will also explain why the Versacamm is so bad with blades.

If you’re regularly using mixed media Danny I find that having a couple of blade holders with diff blades in helps, as have one set for laminated work and one for ultra thick lam (sandblast blade) and one for gen purpose, makes for a quick change but still always test cut just to be sure – cheaper than a new cutting strip! 🙂
    All the best, Hugh.

I found that taking off the media clamps when cutting, and taking the blade out when printing helps prolong blade life a lot. What happens is the tip of the blade catches on the metal media clamp and instantly ruins the blade. No matter how good and sharp the blade, it will be useless after hitting the media clamps just once.

Good tip John, been there, got the (expensive) t-shirt! I don’t currently take blade holder out when not cutting, but think you have point with all that solvent/ink airborne by the blade must have cumulative effect so am going to trial that as a working practice 😀
