    Hi signmakers!

My Versacamm has started to cause me some heartache.
While printing a large grid, the lines that are parallel to the printer’s cut line are perfect, but the perpendicular lines are distorted in places, wonky…….

When printing text, it causes a shadow or blur along the width in some places.

Any suggestions what it could be or what I should check?

    Thanks,
    Philip

I think this is probably due to dust or contamination on the decoder strip.

    Hi Phill, thanks.
I’ve been googling and it seems that I use alcohol on a swab to clean it.

    I have the older model
There is 3 strips, possibly a protection strip on each side of the encoder.
Do I clean all of them?

I came across these videos which were useful

    and

I’m off to the chemist now for the Isopropyl Alcohol……

    thanks for your help.

    Encoder strip has been cleaned.
I was able to only clean the top of it.
It’s fastened flat to the panel.

Fingers crossed, so far so good!
