I started my business using a creation pcut 630 and to be honest its been a really good starter cutter, havent had any faults with it at all until it decided its had enough today…..
About 2 months ago i bought a graphtec ce5000-60 cheap from ebay. Its not in perfect condition, looks like someones been a bit knife happy when cutting the vinyl off but that doesnt bother me. I tried to set it up when i first got it but no matter what i did it always cut way too deep through the backing paper. I changed the pressure etc on the machines but it still wouldnt stop doing it. so i found a manual on the internet (cant find one now which is annoying so if anyone has a link would be super helpful) and started from the beginning. when it got to the installing the blade section i checked my machine and im not sure if the blad holder is missing a bit at the top which could be causing the issue and if it is where to source a new one so i can get on as i have outstanding orders and 2 machines out of use! any help would be greatly welcomed as im going crazy with worry here!

    thanks kimmy!!

hi kimmy, looking at photo one the blade holder looks to be missing the top ajustment screw also the clamp to hold the holder in place is below where it should be(maybe this was just for your photo) also it could be a smart blade holder from edwardmathias.com go on there site and have a look loads of info on there about plotter blades and they will be able to get you sorted. 🙂 🙂

    Hi Kim

The blade is a smart knife from Edward Mathias and does not have any adjustments on it, unlike the original blade. The blade should sit in the holder with the clamp over the top of the lip in the blade (see attached image) making the blade sit lower.

    hope this helps

Thank you so much for your advice! Would you replace the cutting strip on my cutter (see photo) think the previous owner was a bit blade happy across the whole machine. If so where would you recommend getting one from
