  • Double sided window sticker help needed!

Posted by Harry Guy on 11 December 2013 at 13:54

    Hi guys,

I’m always looking through the forum, but this is the first bit of advice I’ve needed……

We’ve been asked to supply 1000 x 95mm x 65mm double sided window stickers – with different messages on each side.

I can not get my head around how to do it!! Can anyone offer any advice, or a good supplier to use??

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Chris, thanks for the quick reply.

The quote request says full colour, but I haven’t seen any artwork yet! In reality most of the corporate things that get done by this client are usually only black, red and white.

I will have a look at Sovereign – thanks for the tip!

Cheryl I think he will need some sort of block out if it is to be read from the inside as well.
Im stumped, because light block vinyl has a grey or black backing, so it wont work. Unless he puts ANOTHER layer of white between them!
Gets a bit complicated, Harry 🙂

I am with Cheryl! Reverse print on clear, laminate with white, and then stick normal print on clear onto white for inside! All inside and all protected! I cant believe there is enough light in a English winter to have problems, with it being viewed from both sides!

    Goodluck!

I think they do two versions, one with a grey reverse and the other a white reverse.

You really need a block layer if there is a lot of high contrast text / images as the bleed through with the light is BAD on a lot of white print vinyls.

Had a few double sided jobs look great, until any light comes through. Now it’s an extra layer of white to lessen it, or reverse print clear, backed in standard white, then printed grey back applied over that for the non-sticky side.

This is how I do it…..
Reverse print onto clear cling or clear self adhesive, then I print a white silver white block out by screen printing or a white dark grey white if digital printing. Then print in face print your image. The idea of the white silver white is to stop any see through when placing in a window.
Please note that if you print onto clear cling to many heavy covered of ink may stop the cling from adhering to the window properly so proof first is advised.
    I hope that helps..
I may be able to help if its a long run.
