slow export times for X5 help needed
Hi Peeps…
Ok first of all
My Pc: Top of the range i7 processor running windows 7 pro with more RAM than most people could even comprehend. Over 8 terrabytes of storage space and using fast hard drives.
So this isnt a PC problem..
My Problem:
Whenever I have a design I want to export as an eps or even a pdf (pdfs are marginally faster) if it has any bitmaps in it, it takes ages to export. Sometimes up to half an hour.
The biggest problem is when I’m laying out a sheet of say 500 labels for print. Vectors are no problem.
Similarly when I try to import a PDF file, even if it’s only 250kb big, it hangs to a near standstill.
It rarely crashes completely but I have left it for over an hour sometimes to render out and had it throw back an error at me eventually. Sometimes it has completed the task.
I’m at a bit of a loss what to do, ive tried changing the compression levels on export, but it makes no difference. Not quite sure whats happened but I never used to have this problem..
Originally I put it down to network speed as I was saving to our server rather than locally…. But I have the same problem when sending to a local drive.
Anyone experienced similar or know what it is?

Should’nt be a problem unless really big file, if you send me smaller file I can try it here in various versions to compare.
EPS files with headers can bloat a file so that can be turned off.
