Best way to print on "awkwardly-shaped" surfaces..
I’m looking for a practical way to print onto spray-painted or bare metal – whether that’s screen printing or whatever, I really don’t know, so would appreciate some advice.
The kind of thing I’m looking for would be something like these :

http://www.rocknrollvintage.com/prodimages/Z-Vex-Custom-Oooh-Wahh-II.jpgI’ve tried large stickers, but they end up being a nightmare for various reasons. They’re ok, but it’s not what I’m looking for as a long term option (the main problem being that I can’t get round edges too cleanly). Lazertran is no good either, as it leaves me with edges.
Could I get the results I want with self-weeding heat transfer paper? :
http://www.serigraf.ie/heat_laserdark_nocut.htmlI’d end up with lettering that I could clear coat over. But do these things require a flat surface and a heat press? Is screen-printing out of the question for me?
Advice/suggestions much appreciated!
