Newcomer from Nottingham
Hi everyone 😀
My name is Matt,I’m based in Ilkestone, but work in Sheffield. (please excuse the avatar, only one i’ve got to hand right now, and it was halloween)
I’m a Computer Network Engineer by trade, and a very enthusiastic hobby mechanic / Car modifier in my spare time, I also make fibreglass body panels for MX-5s
I have no printing or sign writing experience beyond a few airbrushing projects I did a few years ago….. so why am I here?
I have started my own forum, and our slowly swelling numbers are demanding merchandise, such as stickers / t shirts / hoodies etc. so I am here to learn 😀
I’m already handy with photoshop / Illustrator and have produced a couple of designs that we have had made in cut vinyl. trouble is I get the impression from the companies I have been using that the amount we order (very small) that we are not really welcome business. And the last run was pretty poor quality, late, and cut incorrectly. (i’m not complaining, I’m sure that the guy had much bigger concerns / clients to deal with, i am after all a tiny customer)
I like to have a go at anything 😀 so I am here to learn about producing such items. it is mostly about having the flexability to produce very short runs of designs / try designs out without infuriating suppliers, or the inevitable lead time you get when you are a teeny client wanting 10 stickers.
So hi :wave3: I’ll try not to get in the way, or ask too many stupid questions, I promise I am not a Help Vampire but as I’m just starting out, i’m sure I will ask a few clangers, so sorry in advance.
