  • VHB Tape 8 Banner Hemming Tape Suppliers, advice needed.

Posted by Unknown Member on 6 August 2013 at 08:38

    Guys,

Just wanted to pick some brains on who people are using for VHB tape and Banner hemming tape.

I have been using a supplier on the internet (Fleebay) who proved to be very good on the first few orders but the last order I never got my goods and I had to chase this bloke via paypal to get my money back.

I was however paying £6.00 a roll of 25mm x 33m Banner hemming tape and around £15.00 for 19mm x 33m VHB tape which seems to be very competitive.

Might I add that I was ordering 10-15 rolls at a time for that price.

Any ideas on new suppliers I could look at?

    Many Thanks

    James

    Hi James
We use Robert Horne for our hemming tape and Indasol for our VHB.

    Cheers

I now use the hemming tape from MetaMark, tried a few others had had a few failures, the MetaMark supplied one is good, even used it to repair the ceiling in my workshop with some foamboard !

for VHB tape, I get mine from Signgeer/JAG Supplies good service and product is good.

I buy banner tape direct from the manufacturer. Boxes of 36 at a time….REALLY sticky stuff and dirt cheap. 25mm x 50m. Get details tomorrow…

    DURACO – box of 36 rolls 25mmx50m

    part 491237 / 4951WCF – £108 a box +VAT & P&P

done hundreds of banners with it…performs brilliantly.

Boxes only – no single rolls.

Well it took us a year to go through all 36 x50m rolls! (1800m).

Just ordered up another box and got some samples of VHB & foam tapes coming too.

Highly recommend them for product, price & service.

I think, a lot of us here on this forum have been buying! – Phoned today to enquire about the tape and instantly got:

‘Yup, guess you want the box of 36 rolls for £3.00 per roll then’

paid and dispatched already to me, top people.

…………now to generate more banner business with all this extra tape :lol1:

Thanks for the lead on that http://www.essentraspecialitytapes.co.uk/

I should maybe ask for shares in the company… :lol1:

Yes, they are good guys & gals to deal with.

Tested & liked their 0.5mm VHB so got a roll of that too. Done a few smaller roadsigns & rails with it and mounting snapframes to glass.

    Hi All,

Thanks for the kind words about our products and service.

Of course, if you have any questions about which double sided tapes to use then we can always offer our advice and assistance and hopefully pass on our knowledge and experiences.

*by way of this post i hope i am not been seen to be breaking any forum rules as it is certainly not my intention*

    Thanks again

    Hi Richard,

Couldn’t fault your service when I ordered 36 rolls.

I do have a job where the customer is going to stick some A4 & A3 acrylic poster inserts to a printed board. I need tape that will keep them in place, but if at a later date they wish to remove them it’s possible (even if it involves removing some glue). What tape would you recommend for such applications?

    Hi David,

a few products i could recommend for your application on this one.
    A few questions though
    1) Internal or external use?
    2) Does the tape need to be clear so its not seen through the acrylic poster inserts?
    3) what material is the printed board?
    4) Is the tape likely to be subject to any direct UV sunlight?

If you would like to give me a call then please do so.

    Thanks
    Richard

I normally but our tapes from these guys as suggested by a few people on the boards

    http://www.essentraspecialitytapes.co.uk/

Looks like its taking 35 days to ship orders from Europe

Anyone else got the same issues and can anyone recommend someone else

    Many Thanks

Expand your mind and your choice of tapes!

Essentra are frequently out of local stock in certain grades & widths.

eg. If they are out of 25mm wide – see if they have any 19mm or 12mm in the same grade. (They won’t suggest it).

Shipping stocks from Poland is usually a 1-2 day affair unless there is NONE in the company & they are manufacturing on a long leadtime.

Seems to be a serious stock issue there, with most sizes

I certainly have expanded my mind….My partner just reminded me that we managed to order directly from a manufacturer of this very same tape a few months ago and got this at less then half the cost…

I must have been looking at some old supplier records.

    Cheers anyway!

Don’t be Bogarting all the cheap suppliers (with stock) to yourself – share! 😀

I bought a box of the

    DURACO – box of 36 rolls 25mmx50m

End of last year and only used a few rolls so if anyone is stuck be happy to pass some on to you if it helps out, you can either pay or replace them when you get your stock.

Oracal banner hemming tape is great… i forget the exact price etc but was something like £7.20 for 50 metre roll. so equivalent to £3.60 for those buying 25m rolls. Can be purchased from Europoint.

Amari do VHB tapes and the like too.
Indisol is a great all round tape supplier too…

be careful what you buy though when its down to vhb. there are so many varying grades and cheap copies going around.
