Posted by Mark A Brown on 10 July 2013 at 13:19Hi All,
Can you any shed light on where the cheapest supplier of relfective vinyl is. I’ve got a big job to do and currently paying nearly £14 per meter of 1220mm wide for 5 year material

Ive seen in Grafityp they sell some for £5.36 at 1220 which is 3 year and £8.76 which is 5 year
Im paying nearly £14 at Hexis which is 5 year, this is Oralite I think its made by Oracal. Does anyone have experiance with the Grafityp reflective is that the same -
Hi we tried the grafityp commercial grade and would not recommend it, Nigel at grafityp replaced all the material we purchased with engineering grade which has been ok. we now only use 3M so that says enough about our experience with cheap reflective vinyl you get what you pay for.

I think you should try some of the cheaper stuff before committing…
I started using the new oracal reflective a couple of years back. it is the BEST by far over any engineering grade type reflective film ive used in the past 24 years.
Not only does it have the largest colour range available in reflective i know of, it weeds great, applys great and more importantly, strips great. unlike any other i have tried. anyone using engineering grade reflective will be aware of how temperamental it is, snaps easy, leaves silver residue past, de-laminates, and is an absolute nightmare to get back off, even minutes after being applied.Oracal at £12-14 per linear metre ticks all my boxes and i would be surprised to find one as good. ill be honest, i was amazed when the oracal reflective performed like it did when it was upgraded.
i also use the equivalent reflective digital that you can print directly too also.
this also comes with a watermarked surface to show it complies with various eu regulations which in my opinion, all vinyls show do same, regardless of series.
if nothing else it will show our customer what they are paying for, buy that i mean those companies out there that "pitch and switch" to gain contract work will find that near impossible. 😉 -
I agree with Rob, oralite is the one i’d use and I would add that some cheap brands have not got very good reflective colour what i mean is they look washed out, a bit orange instead of red. By the way metamark do a reflective which is same make as one of grafityps, i assume Chinese but could be wrong.
