  Printing jpeg images

  Not too sure if this is the right section to post in.

  I use CorelDraw X4. When I use a combination of vector and jpg files in a design, I export to eps and print via VersaWorks. The jpg part of the design always looks washed out and dull. If I print the jpg direct from VersaWorks, it’s fine.
  Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

  convert the whole lot to a 300dpi bitmap before sending it to the printer – generally works well.

  I did try that but I lose my contour cut line.

  send the eps as the jpeg is rgb or cmyk normally the vectors look after them selfs

  The washed out image is probable rgb, ensure everything is CMYK and if your colour management is set up correctly and you have a half decent monitor what comes of the printer should be sililar to what you see on screen.

  Thanks all for the quick feed back. I’ll have a play this evening and see what results I get.
