Clear matt paint/stone chip protection vinyl?
Hello everybody,
Ive seen some clear paint protection films, but was just wondering if anyone has used or knows of one with a matt finish? And are these harder to work with than the usual wrapping vinyl?

Hexis do a polyurethane matt finish paint protection film that is 150 micron.
The techniques for application are quite different to normal wrap vinyls, I would best describe the process as a cross between vinyl wrapping and window tinting as there are techniques from both those processes used with PPF.

could you not just use clear laminate film? comes in matt also. doubling it up could get the thickness but becareful not to laminate matt with matt as we found they didnt stick together but laminating clear film with matt clear is ok.

Didnt know you could apply laminate straight onto the body, I guess this route would be cheaper. But then doubling up takes double the time!
Just received some swatches from William Smith, they stock some of this too.

PPF is Polyurethane and far more resiliant than any PVC type laminate, it is very tough and nothing like a vinyl type laminate, you cant tear PPF for example and it has very high impact resistance and absorbtion characteristics, my personal experience is that most normal laminates will chip quite easily if hit with stones etc at high speed, have yet to see a polyurethane PPF show anything more than a slight mark on its surface from this type of impact and have never seen any with a hole in it from the likes of stones etc hitting it.
Get a sample of polyurethane PPF and have a go at destroying it, only thing that really damages it is a good knife.
