App tape dispenser
Hi everyone, I have done a search but came up with nothing.
I was wondering if anybody ever made their own app tape dispenser?
Or can anybody point me in the direction of somewhere that sells cheap ones to get started with?Its becoming a pain without one at the minute but I cant afford £60+ just yet(cheapest I have seen).

I’ve had my own for years which I made from a couple of curved tubular ladder hooks with a bit of chrome rail linking them, did me fine for 7years+ but, have now just bought one of these for the new workshop…

hi adam,if you go to the tutorials page and down the bottom of the page there is two home made ones with photos,there old posts from 2004/2005.i made one myself and it works perfect i also got one of the mdp ones good enough value at £40

Just about to upgrade, but been using 2 batons screwed to either side of the table with a 25mm wooden rod through the centre…..

Thanks for the replies and ideas. I cant access the tutorials yet with a free membership, but I think I will be ordering one from MDP when I put my next order in, I didn’t realise they sold them that cheap, thanks for the heads up.
In the meantime, I will just have to sweet talk the missus into holding the roll for me :thumbup2:

I made one myself out of odd bits I had lying round the workshop, holds 2 rolls which is handy if like me you use both paper & clear tape. It lives at the end of the bench & has sort of sprouted other bits over time, various hooks a shelf I keep the rulers on & a plastic cutlery basket for knives, tweezers, pencils & few other odds & ends.
Kind of hard to explain but you don’t really need someone to hold the app tape roll, if you lay the graphics on the bench, pull a foot or so off the roll & stick it to the bench & start of the graphics to be covered & then use something like a roll of vinyl to push the app tape roll along the bench.
