3M wrap not sticking?
We have recently had our company van wrapped and are having issues with the wrap coming away in the recesses. My boss has asked me to do a bit of research on the subject and I stumbled across this site.
Now that this has been made my problem, could anyone shed any light as to how this may be happening? I’ve been told the company has been contacted about it but nothing has been done as yet.

If your boss has asked you to do the research then it is you who should be speaking to the Company that did the job. Not sure it is right to ask any of us to comment before they have been given a chance to investigate themselves.

Wrap popping out of the recesses is a common fault and could be down to a few different things.
1. The prints not gassed for long enough
2. The wrap put into the recesses incorrectly
3. No post heating done
4. Maybe not a cast material (not a wrap film)These are the questions you should be asking if a wrap is done properly from start to finish it shouldn’t fail.

Think Jill’s question was to the original poster not you Mark & my guess would be that they are not a sign maker just someone who is now looking for an excuse to blame a sign company.
The fault may well be down to the Sign Company that fitted it but they should at least have a chance to investigate & put things right before anything is said in my opinion. -

I just wasn’t sure from the original post if they had been given a chance, I’m all for trying to improve the quality of work & peoples opinion of the industry so don’t have a problem if the Sign Company won’t speak to them.
Meg is still quite blue lol, she got a bath but it’s pigmented ink so although an aqueous ink it is water resistant once dry :lol1: :lol1:

Sorry for the confusion, my query was to the OP because it looks like they were just looking to complain about another sign shop.
That being said, perhaps the sign shop did do a shoddy job, or maybe the client requested cheap material.
Maybe the sign shop was a cowboy with little experience.
Maybe the client is the type we as sign makers wish to avoid.
I thought this was a forum for sign makers not sign clients is all.Good luck with your dog, Martin.

what vinyl was used and series?
who fitted it, your company or a sign company?if not you, sorry, deaf ears… 🙄
