    Okay, don’t laugh.

I am looking at small plotters and there seem to be two of interest (chucking-out the obvious Chinese brands).

The first is the Silhouette Cameo which is a hobbyist machine with a Graphtec name on it.

The other is the GCC Sable 60.

I’m guessing they are both made in China but to a more Western standard.

I should be clear that I am looking for something very low cost and small as I work out of a log-cabin that is already busting at the seams with machines and stock and my initial requirement is for simple jobs. I am never going to be doing anything of any-size. Should such a job come my way I would sub-it out to someone that knows what they are doing, has the right kit and is relatively local.

To give an example, I supply machines that are in housings. The housings are extruded aluminium and perspex and I put a logo on the perspex. Presently this small logo, single colour, 200mm square costs me £15 each.

I also need to produce some smallish self-promotion vinyls for my car.

In an ideal world I would buy a CAMM-1 but cannot afford nor justify it at the moment

    The Sable is £440 ex-VAT
    The Cameo is £224 ex-VAT

So, now you have finished laughing… Any thoughts?

    Steve.

Hi Steve, not sure why anybody should be laughing at your requirements, I have the larger graphtec but I hear great things about the smaller cameo machines. If the size doesn’t present a problem and given what you are paying per decal, spending just over £200 seems a no brainer.

Hi Steve, buy the Graphtec Robocutter, noisy but sounds ideal for your requirements, cheap as chips as well.
