  • Double sided adhesive product?

Hi all! got a problem which has had me stumped for awhile

Im looking for a product which is around 500mm (or wider) in width. Which i will apply to malleable PVC material and then be able too pull the second backing paper off and apply the PVC material to the surface. (exactly like motorcycle graphics) Cant be foam either! Spray adhesive is out of the question aswell.

I’ve called the local suppliers and they don’t seem to know of such a product! but i am adamant that its out there!!. I have heard a rumor that 3m make a product but only sell it to authorized appliers and stockists?

    Help!

    Thanks.

Have you tried a print mounting film? Most if not all of the digital print media suppliers sell it, not sure if it is suitable for your needs as you haven’t said what they are.

Robert Horne do it. 3M 468MP double sided in sheets if you need high spec, or Ritrama
in 700 x 1000 sheets. They also do an Avery one on a roll 1 metre wide, but it’s
expensive. As Martin says, you could also look at mount film, as long as you are aware
of it’s limitations – I wouldn’t use it if it needs to be long lasting or outdoors.

Hi thanks for the replies, sorry forgot to specify! Being used on motocross bikes as suspension decals and also will be used for graphics kits, so will be outdoors and will need to stand up to a beating haha.

    Jason

When I was in the UK I used to buy rolls of glue backing for vinyl, but without the vinyl, which came pressed between two layers of backing paper. It had no substance at all, no clear film or anything to interfere with it.
I used this to apply to the surface of reflective vinyl, to make up reflective logos to go INSIDE the rear windows of Addison Lee taxicabs.

This was perfectly clear adhesive and it worked very well.

I used to get it from a company called Phoenix Tapes. It came in 610mm wide.

It was more than ten years ago, so I dont know if they still exist.

    Simon.

i thought that method when out of fashion with the ark the 3m high glue was the one they used.
