need some advice on which gloss black vinyl to use?
about the only vinyl my local supplier doesnt keep seems like it should be one of the most common….
im after a gloss black vinyl thats nice to use for wrapping roofs, bonnets, mirrors etc. i am used to doing roofs on my own with air release vinyl(the stuff with the channels on the back) but obviously if im doing it on my own i dont want to look at the roof after and be left with little bubbles as they can be a pain to get out over a wide area
the job is also for a close friend whoneeds to keep costs down which always annoys me but thats the joys of the job
so if anyone wants to throw me in any directions. i almost bought some graphicast 10 year vinyl but the gent i spoke to wasnt to sure how useable it was so decided idask the experts 🙂 -

Forget the fact its a mate wanting a favour type senario…
if he wants it done right he needs to pay. dont forget as soon as it fails, its YOU he will be pestering for it to be fixed at your expense!grafityps digital wrapping film is a good wrapping film and priced competitively.
however, i dont think you can get a solid colour wrapping film because i was asking them not so long ago trying to match some colours for a job i had.
i would imagine their cast will be up to the job but how easy you find working with a cast is something else…solid colour wrapping films that i have actually used and rate… Avery Supreme, Oracal 970RA and 3M 1080…

Grafityp from Grafityp http://www.grafityp.co.uk/i think you will find any of those solid colour wrapping films very easy to work with, but they will be a fair bit more expensive than the grafityp films.

Grafityp is quite local to me and prefer places I can pick up from. He will still be paying enough to cover materials and. My time and I have a general rule with mates that they believe there is little if no profit involved and if anything I am gaining a few metres of vinyl for other jobs, also they are told that by getting discounted ratse. I will not fix any pathetic faults so I don’t have to worry on that side 🙂 I’ll check the links out tomorrow on computer.

Eddie, if you go down the cast vinyl road make sure you have a try yourself before doing any work for others, you may find you struggle on your own as it is generally nothing like the air release type vinyls you have got use to fitting.
I believe KPMF do a gloss black with air release, not sure what vinyl you have been use to using or how good the KPMF air release is but might be worth buying a metre or two & testing it. It’s reasonably priced & MDP supplies do next day delivery at a reasonable rate.

We wrapped this trailer in Hexis Hexpress. Overkill yes but I wanted an excuse to try the stuff and it went on a dream.
