Hey guys, haven’t been on here for a while. just a quick question… I do my fair amount of wraps, but always go through cleaning fluids really quick. i know there are loads available.. but was wondering what other people use. What would you say is the most cost effective stuff… for years i was using Avery Surface Cleaner but been looking at a few different things.. any ideas 🙂

    Hi Ben

I’ve never bought any cleaning fluid from the big manufactures. I just use hot soapy water rinsed off well and then panel wipe for a degreaser. Been using it for years no problem.

    Cheers Adam

IPA is probably one of the most cost effective & if people like Avery & 3m didn’t make their own cleaners I’m pretty sure that’s what they would say to use.
I buy it from a chemical company in a 25 ltr container. I keep the container in a fire locker along with other flammable liquids just to keep me right with insurance.
You will probably find that the cleaners supplied by Avery & 3m contain a high level of IPA if you read what’s in them.

Like Martin, 25l container of isopropyl from a paint company.

Useful for removing glue, panel cleaning etc.

Cost me about £55+VAT…and lint free paper towel for general use.

We use the following, in this order.
    1. No additive washing up liquid / water mix
    2. Prepsol (Obtained from car mechanic’s suppliers)
    3. Isopropyl alcohol / water approx 50/50 mix
    4. Isopropyl 100%

    Simon.
