Holographic Vinyl Supplier Suggestions?
Posted by David Hammond on 29 October 2012 at 15:57I have a customer looking for some silver holographic vinyl stars cutting.
I know graffityp do a textile material, but can’t seem to find a supplier for the self adhesive holographic vinyl.
Any suggestions welcome.

Had it from both the companies mentioned David but if it hasn’t changed then it is only a display type film, not suitable for outdoor use so customer needs to be made aware of that.
Having said that I put it on a number of cars for people despite warning them against it & it held up very well. -
The vinyl is going on 4mm black correx, internally. It only needs to last 6weeks… but will be re-used over 3 years.
Customer warned me it was expensive 😮
All above £10 PLM.
Doro tape does one at almost 1/2 that price? 😕

If it’s not a rush job then get a couple of samples from each David, bit difference in the finish of some of these films. There is also another company I used years ago that had holographic in its name try a google search.

Think it may have been these people but not 100% sure

Not so much a ‘rush’ job…
It’s a big enough order to warrant buying it in, but not the kind of job that warrants a massive cost. 🙄
Just looking at their website now Martin.

you will find several sources on the UKSB toolbar mate. see vinyls, then decorative films…
same listings are now on Signapp directory also.Best price on this stuff I have found to be creative films, http://www.creativefilms.co.uk but their pricing doesn’t seem very stable. Still, worth buying from them as they are competitive.
We bought various styles of 50 metre rolls and paid around £2.35 a metre (some years back now) then sometime after 20 metres here and there and the price had risen substantially. I do get the bulk buying and all that, just that there was so much a jump.
Anyway, they also have a great range of films available.David these are polyester foil films mate and aren’t forgiving and show up dust like mountain. So make sure perfectly clean and maybe do a sample on correx as I recon the ripple of the surface may create bubbles between flutes. Could be wrong though, but once this is down it’s down. Try lifting and re-laying and the adhesive comes away from the film.

Cheers Rob.
Creative films have a minimum order of £50.
Probably go with Martins link.
Good news is that I am not fitting the vinyl, just supplying the correx and the vinyl for the customer to fit themselves.
-
sorry mate, never knew that. must be a new thing or it was never mentioned due to us buying in high volume.
good to hear on the fitting, nothing worse with correx. 😀

I used this `Bright Overall` vinyl from Dorotape reverse fitted to the back of a glass plate to be installed in a shower. Came out well and believe still Ok after a couple of years .
Dorotape give it 5 years exterior life !
Not sure if that’s what you mean by holographic.Hexis do this also.

I actually bought it from Solar Sign Supplies over in Chester. I’ve used them for odd little bits, and they send a brochure out with a free delivery voucher… price on the film was good and saved me delivery.

Not certain but I think that ATC (Application Tape Co) in Rochdale do it too
Cheers
