  Delete button not working in CS5

  Hi
  I apologise in advance for the dumbness of this question.
  I am using CS5 on a mac after being used to AI 10 on a PC.

  However, there doesnt seem to be any way to delete anything, other than command-X.
  When I press the delete button on the keyboard nothing happens.

  Maybe there is a preference pane for this? Please tell me they have not disabled it completely!

  Just tried it on my Mac running CS5.1, and it works OK. Backspace key works too, so
  could be a setting on your Mac. Is it a laptop? Try the function key along with delete.
  If none of these work, you can edit your keyboard shortcuts in the edit menu. Assign
  the delete key to the ‘clear’ command in the edit menu, and this should do as a workaround.
