sp300 driver help
hi all, can anyone point me in the right direction please?
I have recently had some problems with the pc running my sp300 and yesterday it finally packed in….no problem i thought so attempted to reinstall the software onto a newer pc running vista instead of xp….there the problem starts…
the discs i got with the printer only seem to support upto xp and doesnt have the drivers to support vista.
where can i get the driver?
i have checked roland web site but their drivers are only listed for windows 2000 and xpAny help would be much appreciated

What does everybody else use?
I have to admit I don’t update for the sake of updating, whether that’s software or hardware but if I went and bought a new one now I am guessing I would probably have to run it on windows 7? -
Recently installed new drivers to run sp300v on windows 7 , just contacted the guys from Roland , they sent me a link to download the driver and the profiles, using versaworks and Vinyl Master Pro and Coral Draw for contour cutting and print, it was probably the easiest install I have done for a while, if you do have any issues the guys from Roland are very happy to help out.

I am currerntly running colour rip 2.2 if I recall with corel 11 and wincut for my summa plotter.
I don’t particularly like to keep swapping and changing my software, once I know how to work it okay I will generally stick with it, the wincut for example is the original version that came with the plotter, it works fine it is simple to use…so I usually stick with that.Cheers

If you can, upgrade to windows 7 first – vista is a whole can of worms and is likely to multiply your problems several fold.

The computer that I am dealing with is dedicated to just running the printer and cutter, so no real need for anything newer than XP.
We have had a new motherboard and processor put into it but the motherboard doesn’t have an IDE slot only sata…I am no tech guy….so there seems to be some conflict with RAID or something…I hate computers….lol -
You can install & run windows XP perfectly well on a newer motherboard that uses sata rather than ide drives. You don’t need to set up any sort of raid if you don’t want to.

The situation is that the motherboard on the tower decided to give up the ghost, so whilst replacing the motherboard we replaced the processor and memory.
Unfortunately we found that the new motherboard only had sata connections and not IDE so the existing hard drives could not be connected so we sourced a board that plugged into the motherboard and converted sata to ide.
Then when it was all plugged in a problem was encountered due to the RAID thing (i arent very pc tech…) so the hard drives were removed to be put temporarily into another tower but they do not seem to be recognised….we tried to slave them and although they were recognised in the bios they dont show when you try and find them through "my computer"
Any suggestions?
