Finally finished the Omega Van!
This is our first attempt at anything like this, with an oversized logo in cast vinyl, recesses, welds, door handles all to contend with.
We’ve had the van 2 1/2 days 😳 after spending most of Monday putting heap loads of Oracal 751 into the bin, we tried to apply as we were shown how to wrap, however that didn’t work.
Thanks to everyone for your advice.
There are a few fine dimple like bubbles, I’ve not perfected my technique yet, there are a few creases but other wise it looks good. Discovered at the end of yesterday that using a firm nylon squeegee with plenty of pressure helped prevent the bubbles.

Personally I find 751c a hard vinyl to work with and would never chose it as a wrap vinyl myself although is up to the job but I just find the initial tack very high compared to other brands out there.
Good looking job though so well done.

I’ve just had an order in for another van from another customer and can use the excess vinyl I have on that job! :lol1: 😀
Lots of positive feedback from people in the estate and visitors to the unit.

The design was on their other vans (LDV Maxus things) but the last guy hadn’t used a cast vinyl, and charged £400 for both of them 😮
He didn’t flinch at my quote, and should hopefully be selling them some of my print services in the future.

what material would you recommend for the next one?
I thought something like avery supreme was a little ott and the colour choices a little limiting.
anything to make the next one ‘easier’

Avery 900 might be worth looking at, alot easier to apply in my opinion on something like that. More expensive than 751c but so are most other cast vinyls.Looks good mate, well done.

It’s price over time really, I find 751c a bit harder so takes a bit longer, spend a bit more and get the job done quicker is my philosophy.
I’ve used APA super cast I think it’s called as well as Hexis 20000 or something like that, both air release and not had any issues in Transit recesses and even tight bumper area’s as long as post heating etc and all those things are followed, not had any failures yet.
I would rather spend a bit more on vinyl and have an easier and quicker install time but just make sure you use a vinyl up to the job.
I’ve used avery 900 before and is a bit easier than 751 but only a bit 😉 :lol1:
At the end of the day however you have probably learned more doing it with 751c than you would have with any other vinyl :lol1:

Really great job David, 751 is a good material but i hope it stays in at the corner recess.
I have to agree with Warren on paying that little bit extra for vinyl that saves time and stress.
I work with Oracal 551, 751 and Avery 700, 800, 900 and have tried the Avery Supereme and each has their own place.
Oracal vinyl although much cheaper than avery can be quite sticky when tacking it up and doesnt have the same play as Avery.
Oracal 551 is like Avery 700 but i would prefer 700 for larger flat panels as it has more moveability.
Oracal 751 is like Avery 800 (my preferred allround vinyl) again Avery 800 has a low initial tack, so is better for larger panels and is quite conformably on small to medium recess.
Avery 900 is a very good cast film that would do most if not all deep recess but it is like chewing gum to work with and sticks like ****
Avery Supereme is just Amazing vinyl for wraps.
Again, its all about money but paying that little bit more to have less stress is well worth it 😀

It was a while ago we did this one.
I agree 751 wasnt ideal but it was a colour match to their other vans.
If I repeated that job today I’d look at alternatives. It was worth the hours of graft for the lessona learnt.
