looks great Ian, love the idea of the pencils.
just a thought, the finals would also be great done using HDU Board.
i have a sheet or two fo it left from years ago and keep meaning to do demos on it. this has my head thinking again! :lol1:thanks for taking the time to post your work mate.

I normally make my finials from GRP , but in this case i wanted the wood effect of the pencil and as it was for the local school said i ‘d give them the real thing,
£100 plank of timer before i did anything with it though!! 😮 -
get yourself some HDU to play around with, from coastal mate…
very easy to work with and lasts forever…http://www.precisionboard.com/gallery/s … l-gallery/

Ian, go to the top of the class! One of the best signs I have seen on here. The pencils and the way you have made them are a great idea.

I really love this one.
I think using the wood was the best choice in this instance.
It looks more authentic than HDU and it will last longer in case birds peck at it etc.
Really nice work.
Love….Jill
