  • advice needed on Feather Flags please?

I have been asked to supply a feather flag but have never done one of these before.I know where to buy the base and pole but have now idea about printing and finishing the flag itself. Is this a regular sign making job or a job for a specialist trade supplier?

We’re in the same problem at the moment, bought them in before but not cheap. We also have a pole and base but just need to print the flag and hopefully sort out a tidy way of making a seam and pocket for the pole that looks equally as good as a proper sewing machined one!

We have some on order from signwaves at the moment … I think very reasonably priced…cheaper the more you buy of the same artwork

    Worth a call mate

    Cheers

    Hi Phil,

I messed about with trying to print the flag myself, not to mention the mess it makes, solvent prints with very muted colours and bleeds like crazy.

I’d be looking to sub contract it out to be honest. Ultima display can print, supply and finish.

I too would recommend Signwaves for these. They will supply the template for artwork purposes.

Unfortunately, one of those things you will not make much money from as ‘trade’ prices are on a par with online prices.

Strange that, I also have just had an order confirmed, was going to do a trial print, I know a commercial seamstress who can finish. I am talhing about a rectangular flag though, so easier to do. Hardware from Ultima Display.

I’m waiting for my order from Ultima. I tried printing to Metamark’s Textile Flag, but as said, it bled, so have ordered the flag as well from Ultima.

The customer care has been excellent so far, looking forward to seeing the goods! :lol1:

Delivery a while ago via TNT, Ultima pushed delivery forward by a day at my request. Emails at every point, for proof, confirmation, delivery date, all in all an excellent service.
The flag is finished to a good spec, the hardware, although not expensive, looks as though it will do the job just fine, and certainly doesn’t look as though its from the cheaper end of the market. I took a couple of pictures but they must be too large, won’t upload.
Because Ultima sublimate the prints there is no bleed. I’m surprised at how much material there is, and does explain the high cost to a degree.

2 weeks and I will be in my new unit, then I will be able to display stuff properly! :dance2: :dance1: :funky: :pink:
