Ride to Work Day June 18th.
Posted by Peter Roberts on 27 May 2012 at 20:52Hi there everyone – well the good weather has finally arrived and I for one are enjoying the blast round the roads at way above the…. we won’t go there.
Well its Ride to Work Day on June 18 (source Motor Cycle Monthly) so as I work from my garage I’ll have to go the long way round the estate ha ha.
Enjoy the weather and blow the cobwebs out.

Hello Lee – Its far to bloody cold here to ride in the winter unless you are a ‘die hard’ rider or the weather is mild. I was in Sydney three years ago (my daughter was working there) We stayed in Darling Harbour it was wonderful, I would move there tomorrow if I could. Where are you based? and is there enough work in the sign industry?
Finally, what bike do you have?
Regards Peter -
I live in Perth Western Australia mate. Work is patchy But at the moment we’re busy.
I ride a Triumph Bonneville T100 and I love it to bits 🙂

Hello Lee – Great bike, built about 6 miles from my home. I’ve been round the factory on many occasions. Perth this time of year is great but the summer 40* plus… wow!
Here its a heatwave and we are all melting – its 27* far too hot for me the vinyl is like rubber and it sticks like hell as soon as it touches a surface, not used to it at all.. The work here has improved now the better weather has arrived, the winter was not as good as past years but I suppose its the same everywhere. I glad the house is paid for at least. Have a great day sport, give our love to the Sheila and watch out for them pesky dingos.

Ahh – I see now ..this is about motorcycles not bicycles….
All this talk of bikes and I was considering dusting off my old Raleigh Roadster and cycling to work on June the 18th just to keep within the spirit of it all..but I guess it’s not such a good idea as I now realise i will invariably have to put up with middle aged "Hells Angel" motorcyle type gangs terrorising the roadways on that day…
Perhaps it might be safer to travel to work on June the 18th in my van as usual 😕

Hi Phill – I don’t know about middle aged I’m positively ancient.
Yes its about bikes – real bikes – Triumph, Ducati, Honda’s etc but the old Raleigh will keep you a lot fitter…
Thanks for joining in, now I’ve got a shop sign to fit for a bunch of low life’s. I quoted four hundred and ended up with (a hard won) £325 cash, and then I get a call this morning ‘don’t forget the invoice’ poo.
Have a great day, Peter -
