Hi – just discovered the site. Have been signwriting since I was 16 – I am getting old now and still at it. What a wonderful site

Well I am still on the young side of 60 – but only just. Got into signwriting after a ‘customer’ watched me sketching lettering at my work (doodling). Could you paint that he asked – probably I replied. That was my first paid job. Always had an interest in art. Then I got further training from a local signwriter. Seems like such a long time ago – a lifetime. My late Father always said jokingly I took my talent from him. He was a Butcher and used to write the specials of the day on the shop window – mince 20d a lb etc etc.
Love the job and feel deeply honoured to have the gift – like we all should.
