    Hi all,

I am looking for the best way to join 2 acrylic opal sheets on a lightbox without any shadow coming through. What would be the best way to do this?? I have seen a step like edge which goes in to the other sheet but how would you do this and is it the best or most common way?? also would the same method be used for foamex and composite boards??

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards

    Phill

Yes that’s the way to do it. Rebate half the depth (thickness) of opposite sides of the panels using a router. Remember to allow extra panel length for the overlap. Foamex or composite aren’t translucent so you could use a small backing panel for the overlap. Search for ‘panalocks’ for fixing them in place.

You need some magic sheet joining juice.

Not sure where you get it from i have hunted high and low for it without success, but by all accounts if you can find the magical leprechauns who keep it at the end of the rainbow with there gold, i have heard its an amazing product.

    Happy Hunting
