    Hi guys,

It’s not a "GOOD FRIDAY" for me – I have a lot of cutting to do today and all of a sudden the cutter is cutting out at what seems like 500% enlargement!

I use Adobe Illustrator CS5.1 and Cutting Master 2 1.86 – it has been absolutley fine until this morning.

I have shut down, re-installed etc etc.

When I click "Poll size" to let the cutter change the media from 609mm wide roll to 500mm (hot flex) it just enlarges the job in the preview window.

If I go back to use the 609mm setting it looks ok in the preview but prints enlarged!!

    HELP ME PLEASE!

    Thank

    Billy

    I’m working to Billy 🙁

I don’t know if this will help but we use Flexisign and in Production Manager there is a ‘Size’ box that tells us height and width of the object we’re cutting. Now, just below that is a box with a percentage. This must be set too %100 as if not it will obviously cut at the % that’s in there wether %60 0r %500.

If you’ve got similar check that.

    Thanks Neil,

Yes I’ve checked that and it says the job is the correct size (250mm x 148mm) and percentage up & down is 100% – so all looks fine. It’s very strange.

I’m going to see if there’s a factory re-set on the Graphtec cutter and start again.

Thanks for helping Neil – appreciate it.

look for step size in cm 2 should be .01 mm if it alters so will the finished graphic.
should also be the same on the cutter menu

Thanks Chris – mine is set to 0.001 – so I guess it’s a call to Graphtec Tech support in the morning 🙁 – so far behind with cutting now, but I have a tidy desk & workshop!

    Cheers

presume you are in inches if so .001 may be ok, thing is does it alter when the size goes wrong.

I’m in mm actually Chris – and my step size is set to "0.010mm"

I’ve re-downloaded and re-installed the latest Cutting Master 2 software 1.86 again – reset everything on the plotter and it still scales – I quickly saw an error on the LED display which I think said "Scale Offset error" then flashed off!

I also get an HP-GL Error 1 lot’s which is either software / setting communication problems.

I’ll be on the phone at 8:30am 🙁

ah cm is in graphtec language not hp.
go to plotter menu and change the command set to gp hl.
    think its in background settings.

    Hi Chris,

It was all sorted this morning – it works out that somehow the setting in the "Step size" had, as you thought, changed.

It should be "0.100mm" and it was "0.010" which caused the enlargement at cutting.

Also set to "GL" as you suggested

Phew – sorted – been cutting like a maniac all morning!

    Cheers
