  • anyone else got major probs with hotmail?

Posted by Hugh Potter on 5 April 2012 at 14:01

this morning I installed (upon a prompt) an adobe (flash I think) update, same one that’s been popping up for months to be honest, only on the rare occasion I restart the pc.

since then i’ve had major probs with hotmail and ebay, ebay not so bad but hotmail totally inoperable – other than sign out, I’ve re-installed the latest flash, and java (does anything use java now?) but it’s still the same, so was wondering if it’s just me or if it’s across the board?

I can check boxes but not open or delete emails, canot check other folders etc.

    cheers,
    Hugh

I know recently that there was some malware masquerading as a Flash updater / installer. Maybe you have accidentally installed this instead of the real Flash installer.
Can’t help if you have, but someone else may be able to.

i’m sure it was genuine, it’s been there soo long – I just kept ignoring it.

will run the malware thing just in case.

What about updating your browser Hugh? Of maybe try swopping Firefox for Internet explorer or vice versa?

I moved to chrome some years ago. love it…

Takes some getting used too, but chrome does to all browsers what Firefox did to IE 5-7 years ago! 😉

hope you get it sorted soon mate.
