Hi, I am printing some static cling stickers on static cling material and the image seem to print vibrantly on part of the material and then seems to dissipate and disappear for the rest of the image.

The area that prints well is the start of the roll, that has been exposed to the air. The part where the prints disappears is the part of the roll that has been wound and is protected form the air.

I have included a photo to let you see the result.

I print in a centrally heated room kept at a reasonably constant temperature. The humidity is currently 62% and fluctuates between 55% and 70%

Has anyone come across this type of result before?

If anyone has any advice, please feel free to offer it.

My machine is a Roland VS540.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Neil

I’d hazard a guess at static, I’ve used static cling before and its a pain for static buildup.

Maybe try unrolling the media on the back of the machine first, let it stand a little and re-try

    Andy,

Thanks, I think you could be correct.

I took out the roll and cleaned it with surface cleaner and then printed again and it worked fine.

I will put a media clamp on each edge to see if that can dissipate any static while printing.
