    Hi All

I have 3 pan trays to fit all over 10 meters in width, Ive never fitted pan trays that are more than one panel.

Are the aluminum brackets that i fit going to be enough or do i need something more substantial? And Whats the best way to connect each panel together?

    any help much appreciated

    Robert,

What size of return did you have in mind?

I’d use 50mm ali angle if the return > 50mm. Use a piece of composite 10mm smaller than the height of the tray by approx 100mm wide. VHB this onto either panel to act as a joining strip,

    Nick.

I assume by pan tray, you mean Folded sign tray.

Did one for the cafe just over 5m long. The supplier I used had made up a male and female connection from cuts of composite so they interlocked similar to tongue and groove.

I don’t know about the ali brackets as I only fitted this one, and that had a whole new timber frame built for it.

Hi nick, there 60mm returns, I’m using 50mm angle. im thinking of putting some ali uprights between the angle at the joins.

David, I’m making these myself as its for the shop directly across from me and it will probably be the best advertisement i will ever have, i think the tongue and groove will work as i’m using 3050mm composite i may need more than one shot for getting them into place.

Tongue and groove method works fine, I’ve done a few that are 2 or more lengths and you can’t really see the join from a normal viewing distance.

Also depending on the fascia you’ll have to line up the brackets by eye or with a tight string, don’t assume the fascia is straight, most of them aren’t.

Also make sure the end of the trays does not coincide with the end of a run of angle.
