moving a machine is it straight forward?
Hi all,
I am moving my versacamm sp300v from a first floor building in to another first floor building. Is there any do’s or donts? Thinking of taking the cartridges out and moving the machine then plugin carts back in. Is it as simple as that?

There is a transit clamp that should be re-fitted when moving the unit. This clamp holds the cutter mechanism in place against the print mechanism to prevent it from moving.

I have moved my sp540v twice now. I left everything intact, wheeled it out the door, onto a tail lift truck, which was driven carefully to destination.
The warranty became instantly invalid, but on the next service visit from the techie he re-validated it. The only thing to watch is those pesky 440 cartridges – put the short ones in for peace of mind. I wouldnt leave them out – drying or contamination would worry me more than physical damage with leaving them in.Good luck!

I’ve moved ours without any problems. I used the clamp Phil mentioned – mine was screwed on to the machine next to the ink carts. I stuck the clamp on and left everything else as it was. Wheeled it carefully out to the van and drove like my granny. From the advice we were given at the time the key is keeping the machine level and try to protect it from heavy amounts of vibration.
