Mimaki inks, Some infrmation on the chips please.
Does anybody know if the chips on SS21 inks record how much ink has been used?
Apparently if you have a cartridge that is out of date you can swap the chip with another cartridge that is in date and it will work.
I haven’t done this as it occurred to me that if the chip does read the ink levels and you put an in date chip off an empty cartridge onto an out of date full cartridge surely it wouldn’t work.

Surely life’s complicated enough without worrying about this? Also bear in mind your warranty!

I seem to remember we were told if a cart supplied becomes out of date before we used it the supplier will exchange it……..
having said that… if it runs out of date – do you really need a printer.
