Sorry I ran out of letter on the Subject line to be more descriptive.

I have been in the sign business for a while now and have done 8 x 4 boards etc.

However I have to do an exhibition display where the customer wants to have they images split over different boards next to each other (785mm x 2500mm high) and everything needs to match. The issue is that I have to wrap round the edges of the substrate. so the print will be oversized, my problem then is making sure everything matches down the edges.

Maybe I am over analyzing the situation, but I would love to hear from anyone who has done this before (I am sure there are many) as to how you approached it.

I am going to do it manually as my laminator is ever so slightly out which I can compensate for when laminating but mounting onto different panels and expecting it to be correct, I don’t think it would work.

I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for your help in advance.

We do this by cutting the panels to size first

Tile the image up in the rip and put crop and bleed marks on. (we would allow 50mm all round)

Put the panel on an over sized board

Place vinyl on panel and align with crop marks

    Put it through the laminator

Check all is still square (if not adjust the next panel into the bleed.

Peel the XS vinyl of the mounting board and wrap the panel.

    This works for us

Ian, thanks. I was thinking along the same lines. The only thing is the using the laminator to mount it. My laminator is ever so slightly. I have had it set up a Number of times but it always slightly off. As a result, I think I will mount it manually. I just
    Don’t trust the laminator.

    Thanks again for the help,
    Neil

By the way, I did the mounting manually and it worked out perfect.

    Thanks for for the comments.
