  • Sudden Ink Drainage

    Hi all
I wonder if anyone can shed some light on a problem i have recently come across, i am using a Uniform Cadet Plus machine and every now and then the ink would suddenly drain completely from all the cartridges. Has anyone come across this problem, if so can anyone advise me of how to resolve this costly wastage of ink
    Thanks
    Peter.

It’s all to do with the ink syphoning into the waste bottle. Move the tube nearer the top so it NEVER touches the waste ink…or empty it every week as part of you cleaning schedule.

It can be other problems too, once the ink has bridged across inside the capping station then it’ll carry on pulling the ink through.
I don’t think shortening the pipes will make any difference but a new pump may as it’ll block the siphon effect but there is still a problem with air getting in some were.
Are you using refill cartridges or OEM type ones, I found this would happen once the rubber seal on the cartridge had started leaking slightly, or it could be the start of a damper/seal going.
