Chrome external mirror vinyl advice please

Hi All,
we currently use "R Tape Corporation" Outdoor durable series chrome. We have never had a problem with it, used on vehicles, boats and it has been printed on without problems. My supplier cant get it any more, so….

does anyone use this in uk or know where i could buy some? Or does anybody use another chrome vinyl that they are happy with?

Hi Dan, I use Metamarks 5yr external silver polish, does everything i need it to do cuts and weeds fine and it is printable. Don’t know who the manufacturer is as it has a plain backing sheet on it.

3M do a chrome Cast vinyl which you will probably have seen many cars that have been wrapped in it. Spandex sell 3M but i have only bought ir via William Smiths http://www.williamsmith.co.uk/

i could be wrong, but "maybe" Grafityp do a 5 year. i say maybe because im thinking i might have that confused with their 5 year Fluorescent.

As most of silver chrome I have seen are polyester, what kind of clear PVC laminate do you use when you print on chrom? Monomeric, polymeric?

I tried both (on RTape and Oracal 352) without noticing any problem in 1 year but I don’t know what the best is for longer period.

thanks guys! awaiting quotes from metamark spain and the others to see which chrome will suit us best!

Fabrice we use polymeric lam on top and it works well! Can you still buy Rtape? if so where please?

I buy it in France or in Germany (my workshop is at the french/german border). I don’t know if they sell overseas (are your from UK?) but I can give the company names if you need.
