coreldraw page setup
Hi All, is there a way to set up your workspace/page so that everytime you open a new page it pops up with say a jobsheet already their if you know what i mean

Under Tools there is a ‘save settings as default’ option. Is that what you means?

Is it Workspace – General – Show new document dialog box ?

how do i explain this….when i open a new file it comes up with an A4 page as default, what i would like to do is open a new file and on the A4 page is a jobsheet that I fill in bla bla bla so that i dont have to import it every time i create a new file…is that clearer?

it sounds more like a template thing George……I’ve never done it before but I would imagine you could set it up as you want and then save it as a template….then open new template rather than drawing??

In theory changing the coreldrw.cdt file should do it, in practice I’m not sure. I will look into it.

George – you can save any drawing as a template. Save As/ Save as type: CDT – CorelDraw Template (from the drop-down list). Then when you want start a new drawing using this template, select the template:
File/ New From Template– when you save_as, it should save as drawing file *.CDR as normal.

That bit is no problem, the problem is getting that page to be the default when you open a new job or work session. (if I’ve understood the original question correctly)

hmmm.. if you were able to change the default page style definition to take on the form of a custom template, then wouldn’t that mean that all new pages added within a document would also assume that style?
I think it would be best to use the New from template method then all new pages within the document would still be defined as the default blank page – assuming that is what is required if I understand the question correctly?

Save your ‘jobsheet’cdr on your desktop. Open Corel up from this file.
Carry out your design/job etc – save as xyz.
For the next job, just click the ‘jobsheet’ file.
