  Vinyl at edges

  I nearly always go over my edges with a file, like I do window tint on a glass door.
  I use a very fine file such as a halfords ignition file.

  and even sometimes with some fine emery paper for a very smooth finish.
  I find if I just trim with a blade there are still some patches which can be caught and possibly lift so always feel happier sanding smooth so nothing catches. It seem to feather the thickness of the vinyl at the edge down to nothing.
