    hi all merry xmas 😉

im having a problem with some cut lines i send to versaworks, its very strange to be honest.

say i cut an image my roland sp540 will print and cut but as its cutting there is sometimes a small area of the cut line where the blade will lift up for about 1cm then go back down and continue to cut, i did 4k stickers last week and half were like this and the other half were ok. very strange!

    any ideas

    thanks

first guess would be the cutpath is outside the eps border.
2nd would be some fancy fill on top of the path, bring the path to the top.

hi chris, the cut path being outside the eps border seems to make sense, thanks for that. only thing is how do i set the size of the eps border?

sorry if thats a lame question but im a bit stuck here and appreciate the help

happy new year btw all the best to everyone 😉

Increase the size of your page on the Draw page or reduce the size of your object so it fits within your page and size correctly from your cutting software or (and this is my setting) from the export dialoge box under advanced select objects rather than page as your bounding box. I think this is what Chris is referring to.

Versaworks has a setting for increasing the eps border, double click the A or B que at the top of the page and then 4th one down, file format, in margin. Roland have a recommended border size to cure this problem, can’t remember what it is though.

I just put another 1mm contour outside the cut path outline with no fill or outline.
Maybe not the best way, but it works for me.

you are all on the case.
unfortunately versaworks and graphtec drivers will not cut if the cutpath is on one of the plotter zero coordinates.

jason your method will work but a bit messy if you use VW then as stephen says add 1mm in VW, its a permanent setting till you alter it.

or if in the corel eps export window add 1mm to the selected objects

using page sizes has its uses especially if you have to use two files and line them up.
