Whats the best system for layering vinyl? i use registration marks but sometimes find it hard to hold in place and line up graphics spot on, Should i use a glass top bench or build a light box?

my bench is glass topped, the glass has white vinyl applied underneath (you don’t need translucent or light box vinyl), lights underneath, if layering on the bench i’ll normally tape it to the bench and hinge with tape.

Pretty much the same as Hugh only I have a separate small bench I built with light underneath. Also use clear application tape sometimes rather than registration marks. Some people don’t like the clear application tape but I don’t find it a problem to work with.

I very rarely use registrations marks. I always use clear tape for layering graphics. I don’t mind the stuff, and have never had a problem with it, though I know alot of others don’t like it…

    Are you pre-layering before application?
    That’s just asking for bubbles.
I usually eyeball things on site and use Rapid Tac.
The regular transfer tape becomes transparent enough to see through after you use the application fluid.

Thanks for the comments folks, i have to pre layer as i post alot of stuff for customers to fit themselves, i might look in to getting a separate glass table with light underneath, i also use the clear tape nearly all the time.
