Hi, i have a mimaki JV5 printer and when we send files out to print they start printing but it keeps pausing, the info panel on the printer keeps flashing and the job in the rip gets canceled, we are running Onyx rip, has anyone else encountered this problem, we have tried a new USB cable to no help, any thoughts.

sounds like the PC is not sending data reliably.

Maybe other things running on the PC like a virus

Try ripping the whole file before printing, lots of reasons why this could be happening but as Dave has said it is probably down to information not being sent quickly enough.

Might sound alittle strange but we have the same issue with our Rolands and its tends to happen at this time of the year when the temperature begins to drop….

Last year we actually read the manual and figured out that the surround temperature of our workshop was below the recommended working temperature of the machine…..

We invested in a £40.00 oil heater with a timer placed it under the machine where the main board is, only on a low heat, during winter months we timer the heater to come on at 6.00am arrive at work at 7.00am and the machine is all fired up the board is at a warm enough temperature and we have no stops during prints.

Check its out more than likely if you’ve changed the cable then it could be the same issue we had as explained above.

    Holy thread revival Batman!!

Did you ever get an answer to this JV5 problem? It sounds very much like the RIP/PC cannot produce the data quick enough for the JV5.
