Who makes ‘Holiday Inn Express’ signs?
Posted by David Rogers on 16 November 2011 at 09:50Does anybody know who manufactures / fits the Holiday Inn signage
built-up LED illuminated.
The local hotel approached us to do some repair work but I’m none too keen given the heights, locations and potential necessity for road closures when using a MEWP.
Apparently whoever USED to make them has since gone bust.
Any help appreciated
Dave

Does that not kinda answer your question mate? 😕
By that i mean, if they have gone busty, how can you locate them for signage parts / re-newals. -
i found them on google once.. one of the big companies.. but then i read in sign link type mag someone else doing them… so i guess the sub to whoever wants the job

Yeah, but If the manufacturing company has gone bust though Dave, it doesn’t matter who was being subbed to fit.
I would imagine the Hotel, being a global chain well be well aware of who to contact for signage needs because there will be one or several stipulated "who to use" to maintain their brand stays consistant.
That said, if this isnt major building / branding signage and just general promotional signage then yes, pretty much any reputable firm can produce.
I say that because we do a fair amount of work for Hilton Hotels, but as i said, promotional, project type stuff. You could try Ashleigh Signs. they do national and international signage projects which consist of Hotels amongst others. I see from their website in two pictures they are showing the new style Holiday in logo. so maybe worth a shot?

ie. I asked who makes them (now), it’s a given that I can’t get parts from the last lot!, but as you say ‘brand consistency’ would likely mean that they are lit in a similar fashion as it is the LED lighting that has failed inside some of the signage and we’d wish to maintain the same ‘white’ or at least go in ‘eyes open’ rather than a £500 access hire bill, special permissions from the council etc…and then go; "will be about a week to get the parts in"…& repeat…
I’m not even remotely interested in making signs for them!
Cheers for the heads-up about Ashleigh signs – will give ’em a ring.

As i said mate, the Hotel should be able to make a phone call / email and find out exactly who is manufacturing their corporate brand signage from their head office. Especially a company like The Holiday Inn?
We have our own national contracts with around a hundred depots. New ones opening every month. we manufacture and maintain the lot.
if a depot has storm damage or wear and tear damaged, they call head office or contact us direct. If we did not exist tomorrow, i doubt very much it would be a case of "every depot now fends for itself". there for, its a case of contact head office and find out who has been appointed the role?If they want you to carry out maintenance, then the manager should be more than happy to locate their currant sign supplier and pass you their details to carry out the maintenance on their behalf. If the manager isnt willing to do that then he must be willing to accept the costs incurred in you doing his donkey work.
If he isnt willing to accept the extra costs, then he must accept warm white with yellow tinge glow LED’s amongst his Ice white blue tinge LED’s. 😀.

I’m surprised a local hotel contacted a local signmaker in the first place especially if it is Ashleigh Signs who are the suppliers.
I used to do a bit of work for Ashleigh Signs, everything used to go through them and they would look at what was involved and decide if the job warranted sending a fitting team up to do the work. For small jobs they would just contact me ask if I could do the job and then ship the required gear up to me.
